Meet Dr. Mary Nell Anderson
September 30, 2021EducationMedical Articles

The treatment of muscle, nerve, and bone disorders.

Mary Nell Anderson, M.D. is a board-certified specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (P.M.& R.). She works in collaboration with our orthopedic and podiatric surgeons in Warner Orthopedics & Wellness to provide our patients the best and most comprehensive care possible.

A Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician’s goal is to improve movement and quality of life by treating a wide variety of conditions that impact the joints, ligaments, muscles, tendons, and nervous system: which includes the brain, spinal cord, and nerves.

Dr. Anderson has expertise in electrophysical diagnostic techniques that assist the surgeons in making accurate diagnoses of the true source of pain. She is also an expert in acupuncture and the treatment of migraines and spasticity.

Is PM&R Right For You?

At Warner Orthopedics & Wellness, our goal is to help you regain and maintain your mobility and quality of life through the least invasive means possible.

This involves the diagnosis and treatment of muscle, nerve, and bone disorders.

Dr. Anderson’s decades of hands-on experience in active recovery and rehabilitation, and close collaboration with our orthopedic, podiatric, and physical therapy teams helps our practice offer you well-rounded, comprehensive treatment unlike any other in Baton Rouge or the surrounding areas.

Dr. Anderson’s Educational Background

Dr. Anderson is native to Louisiana, and attended LSU for both her undergraduate education, and for medical school in New Orleans. Afterwards, she attended the University of California’s PM&R program where she obtained the highly respected position of chief resident.

After completing her residency at one of the country’s foremost PM&R programs, she returned to Baton Rouge and gained many years of experience as the director of an in-patient rehabilitation physician, caring for stroke and orthopedic rehabilitation patients.

Ten years ago, she shifted her practice care to a broader range of individuals in an out-patient setting.

Total Wellness – Under One Roof

Our team of physicians & physical therapists work together to improve your ability to restore function, reduce pain levels, and treat multiple conditions that affect the brain, nerves, spine, bones, muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons.
