[VIDEO] PRP Patient Experience

[VIDEO] PRP Patient Experience
July 29, 2021EducationEducational VideosMedical Articles

JoPaula’s knee pain was so severe that she couldn’t walk to the end of her street. Her pain was keeping her from enjoying her daily activities, like gardening.

She began to research PRP injections as an alternative to knee replacement surgery. Four weeks after her procedure, she found that her pain levels decreased dramatically, and she experienced more flexibility in the knee that allowed her to return to the activities she loves!

WHAT IS PRP?

PRP, or Platelet-Rich Plasma, is plasma with a high concentration of platelets – extracted from your own blood. To extract PRP, you’ll undergo a blood draw in a clinical setting, and then it’s spun in a centrifuge, separating the plasma from the red blood cells.

The machine siphons off the platelets and some plasma. Once the right concentration of platelets is reached, the PRP is then injected into the treatment area. It’s used to treat sports injuries, damaged muscles, arthritis, tendonitis, and more.

PRP is used in facial and skin rejuvenation and to treat baldness as well. The platelets help regenerate and heal damaged tissues at the site of injection, for natural pain relief that lasts.
